Johnston College is an experimenting liberal arts college of the University of Redlands, Redlands, California. Although students are expected to meet high academic standards, the college does not record academic achievements in credit hours nor utilize grade point averages or other numbers systems for describing individual achievements.

Each student works under the direction of an individual faculty study committee, responsible for insuring the excellence of his program for learning. In the event that a student transferring from Johnston College cannot be admitted to another institution without a GPA and/or Carnegie credit-hours units, a special committee has been designated to translate student records into such categories. The college feels, however, that such translation should be made only when absolutely necessary, inasmuch as they tend to be inconsistent with the academic design of the institution. A full description of course offerings covered by this transcript is available, along with complete descriptions of the Johnston College academic program, and these materials will be provided upon request.
